just a short message from a very satisfied pledger

hi, I just wanted to say "THANK YOU!!" to all those wonderful people who made the whole "pledge thing" happend!
I'm sure it had to take a lot of work, but I dare to say - it was worth it, wasn't it?!

I just recieved verdi's aida from you, thank you very much for this beautiful piece of art, I'm glad I can add it to my music collection :) I was really excited, I had no clue which album will you send to me, I hoped it will be something good and it truly was! :) one just can't be disappointed by your taste in music! :)
(I wrote something like this on perttu's wall on facebook too, because obviously it is mostly his favourite classical album, it was signed by him etc. but soon my contribution got lost among thousands "I-love-you-Perttu-messages" hehe :) so I wanted to say it again and more "visibly" :D hope this thread won't be considered as an useles spam, I just felt like I have to thank all of you somehow :) )

Hope others are as satisfied as I am!
The "earth" without "art" is just "eh."

I whole-heartedly agree with jana and my friend BlackMoon in that you all deserve a huge thank-you for even considering doing this project for and with us, and not only did you do that and set it up, but you provided us with hours of laughs and something wonderful to look forward to every day the project was running as well as now when we wait for our remaining items to show up... I got one of the A4 foto prints of Perttu, and the second it arrived on my doorstep, I knocked out one of my certificates to free a frame, and proudly displayed it on my wall. I am still waiting for my beautiful photobook complete with your signatures and a personal note, and let's just say that I'm getting a little antsy... :D This pledge project has been a very memorable experience for all of us pledgers, and I know it has been for you guys as well, so thank you again for making this all possible and providing us with these wonderful memories of watching your jam sessions, lovely one-of-a-kind items that we will forever cherish, and the purely joyful knowledge that we all helped you to accomplish something special... So thank you all and I hope that all of us can find ways to keep showing you how much we appreciate everything you do... You probably get this all the time, but you guys are truly something remarkable, and there has never been and never will be again, people or a band like you...

(P.S. Paavo, I am proud to have one of your fotos on my wall, and I just want to thank you personally for deciding to include your fotographs in the list of pledge items... There would have been something important missing if you hadn't... )

Skype Call

I just had my Skype call from Paavo this morning :) It was supposed to be 10 minutes, but we went to almost 17 minutes!! I recorded it on my voice recorder so that I could remember it all. We talked about touring, skiing, photography, cd's and my artwork. Looking forward to seeing them again some time soon :D We won't have a new album for a while, but I think we can all agree that these guys deserve a year long break. Yes Paavo, patience is a virtue and everything good is worth the wait ;)

That must have just been so awesome! That would have been mind-blowing and overwhelming for me, but I wouldn't have felt it until afterwards where it would have hit me that I actually just talked to one of them from in my home, and I would have probably had to lay down for a while... Thank you Renaissance Metalhead for sharing your experience, and I wholeheartedly agree that they deserve a break... I know that they will be doing some gigs in Finland for sure around Summertime, but until then I hope that they can enjoy having some off time just to do stuff at home and spend days on end just roaming about and relaxing... We can certainly wait for as long as needed for new material, as I for one am happy as an Apoholic clam listening to their stuff from 2000 and earlier up to 7th Symphony and Solo Tu every day... There is no rush whatsoever! On the other hand, if the mail people that are responsible for transporting and delivering my photobook don't hurry up, I will most likely go completely nuts by the end of next week... 'No photobook will be the end of me, no photobook will be the end...' ;)

I just got the digital copy and the Skype call instead. It was a toss up for me. I've met the guys twice before, but this was the first time from home. And it sounded almost as if Paavo wanted to go skiing with me and my hubby, but as he's an instructor, he'd be soooo much better than I am. I'd only slow him down :P They are looking at booking more dates in the spring and their touring will finish this fall. But after that, they are taking a year off. No new album just yet, but they are thinking of some ideas, so that's good. Can you imagine though..he told me when they left Helsinki there wasn't any snow, then they go to hot South America, only to come home and see that it's 20 below freezing celcius!! That must be a shock to the system! Fingers crossed that we'll get to see them though :D

:D They must be used to shocks for the system, since they each are one to everyone that they meet... ;) It would be great if they came to North America before their break, but if they do, I probably won't get to see them... However, I get to see them every day on the computer, so I'll live... :D When I get my physical copy of the photobook, I'll be sharing pics in the normal threads, so if you'd like to take a look, feel free to check it out... It won't be for at least a week, though... (Inner calm)

I have the download copy of the book

EtherealFinn
, so no worries there :) I should put a bunch of my Apo photos that I took at their concerts into a book. That'd be cool :D They've signed almost all of my cd's, except for the last one. I hate that record companies are going to stop making cd's this year. Guess I'll have to go with vinyl!

I'm just letting you know... I'm putting them up for my friends Saravara, tall_one, and Robinlina, as well as anybody else who wants to look, because they pledged on other things or weren't able to, etc... But what?! No more cds? Tell me you're kidding, please! ;( It's just not possible! *hangs head* I love CDs because they have art on the front, and all of Apo's have beautiful leaflets in the front with pictures and lyrics... *bangs fists on table*

Edit: Ah.... I have my photobook and it's beautiful... I sent my love to the guys from the forums, so if they are visiting at any point... WE ALL LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!! Thank you all for the project, thank you Ville Juurikkala for taking the fotos and putting them together, thank whoever invented and developed cellos, I could go on for a while... It's peaceful to finally have it in my hands, and also I love that P slightly smudged his signature... Thank you Perttu! ;)

I know, it sucks that they won't be making cd's anymore :( Paavo and I talked about the artwork on the covers and such and how we like buying them. Guess that makes us all old school? :P I'll still be buying them for as long as I can, though. I don't even have an mp3 player or Ipod, heh.

Glad you got your book :) Now you can hug it ;)

I don't have an ipod either... I find it amusing since my uncle and grandmother do... :D And yes, before I opened it, I just carried the box around and held it for a while... It was awesome... My friend just got her postcard, and I can't wait to see the pictures of it!
