I don't think Eicca is showing any disrespect saying that fans look like "cows" when they are running to the stage. He is basically talking about a "stampede" and a lot of concerts look like a stampede when they first open the doors. Now if he said something like "they're fat as cows", that's a whole other story.

That's of course OK. We all can have different opinions. I am sorry if my previous long post seem rude...

IMO we should stop this discussion, because it leads to nowhere, it's said, it's done, like it or not, we cannot do anything about it. And in that interview there are many other nice things we could focus on or debate, not this silly sentence... e.g. the beautiful possibility of having a double CD! That would be really awesome! And Eicca told in a czech interview, that the album could be releaseed already in spring 2010. That would be great! ^^

I agree Nirnaeth! I was particularly interested to read Eicca say that they are rearranging the pieces of music that were written for four cello's. I was concerned that we may never hear some of their older music again because of Antero not being in the band anymore. So I'll be interested to hear the pieces when they have been rewritten to hear how they have changed.

Also, I was interested to read Eicca say perhaps in the future Antero might come back to the band. At least thats how I interpreted it. There's so much to think about from that interview, I'm still taking it all in.

@Helka: first I mut say I adore cows, so I see no disrespect in being compared to them. And sometimes, Eicca is expressing his feelings a bit clumpsily, but he never disrespect fans. He could have said "horses" if he'd thought of it, 'cause horses do the same. We just have to admit that, time to time, when Eicca says things, he puts his foot in his mouth, quite deep. But we like him just how he is, joyfull, strong in character, loyal, direct, and sometimes a bit "undiplomatic"! (I didn't say blond.)

Good to know about Antero and the rewritting of some songs. Did anyone notice a difference in live shows since they are only 3 cellists?

@ Vordaï : Hahahahahah!!! :D Anyways, he was talking about METALLICA fans :whistling:

Thanks for the interview, Terrë and Tone - very interesting and amusing! They know we love the stories, but I think Perttu, as Paavo has said, is a story unto himself! We just have to imagine the rest. Nice to hear of some of their ideas for the new release, as well.

Thank you very much for the both of the interviews, Terrë and Tone, they really made my day (each time ^^ ) Great to read, and, I suppose, also great to make :P

Amelie: They have only two chairs, and Eicca sits on either the drum podium or a stool :D Hey, that is a difference ^^

Just found this (note to self: be more observant on the forum). Well done yet again, Tone and Terrë !! I'm happily floored they are considering a double cd for their next release (yay!!). The Musta Jää soundtrack is wonderful, so to have an entire disc with their slower, moodier classical sounds would be great. And they sounded pretty definitive about staying as a trio and not "training" a new cellist to join the band, so that puts an end to that speculation. I was a little surprised that they will continue to use vocalists on the albums and live (how do the European fans feel about that?) I guess if they're happy at the way things have worked out with their singers on this tour, that's all that matters (some of them have been quite good).

I know a particular contentious point in the interview seems to have been resolved, however, I would just like to send a friendly reminder to people to extend the same courtesy to Eicca (and the others) as you do to fellow forumers for whom English is not their first language. Lots of times someone will have a hard time with a particular word or expression to try to explain what they want to say, and we give them the benefit of the doubt by trying to understand the gist of what they are saying and not assume the worst possible meaning. Sometimes we can be too polically correct and find fault where there shouldn't be any. For anyone who has had problems with things he has said, please think of Eicca kindly. He deserves no less. Thanks :)

Many, many thanks for the interview, Terrë and Tony. I couldn't use my computer in the last 2 weeks because we were remodeling the office-room, so this is the biggest and most refreshing prize for me after the hard work I had on the building site.

Glad everyone liked it, worth the hours of typing. They really are a great bunch, never boring but always hospitable and willing to talk. Shall we do it again on the next tour? I think so :)

Eicca: Yeah! So we've always taken care of others that's very
important. If we have a party and we're drinking, somebody gets too
wasted, we take care that everyone gets home safely you know. That's
why we're a boring band, one of the most boring bands...
(All laughs)

Mr.Eicca, Apocalyptica is certainly NOT boring. :D It was a very interesting and fun interview! even if Paavo left half way...lol :P really great interview! thank you Terrë and Tonee!!! *hugs both*
